Cream Cheese Spritz Cookie Recipe

Christmas Cookie Recipe
With all of the strong flavors in the previous cookie recipes, I decided to go with something a little more mellow today. This cookie doesn't have a lot of spice or fancy ingredients, but it doesn't lack in taste! These cookies go nicely with some coffee or tea.
Preheat oven to 400
Ingredients:
1 Cup butter, softened
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened at room temperature
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
Red and Green decorator sugar crystals
Assorted candies and sprinkles (optional)
Process:
Cream butter and cream cheese in a large bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Stir in vanilla.
Combine flour and salt in a small bowl, gradually add to creamed mixture, beating well until blended. Shape dough into a ball and chill completely.
Press dough from a cookie press 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet using desired shape discs. Sprinkle with sugar crystals. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until slightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
Decorate with desired candies and sprinkles, if desired. Yields about 4 dozen.

It seems if you put cream cheese in cookies you get something rather tasty and spectacular. Wow!
I love all your cookie recipes and am supposed to bake soon with a friend. By New Year's Day we will both weigh 900 pounds but it will be well earned and well enjoyed.
Thanks again!
