Obama and The Phantom Money

What begins with the number 13, has 4 commas and has an undeterminable last digit because it’s constantly increasing? Oh yeah, America’s national debt. It looks a little something like this: $13,432,427,987,968 (at least that’s what I caught as the numbers whizzed by). What do to, what to do? Clearly, the obvious choice is to SPEND MORE MONEY!! All America needs to do is spend more money to make more in the end. Simple, proven economics, right?

Actually, it’s simple, proven stupidity. Literally anyone with an iota of common sense can see this logic doesn’t work. Our trillion dollar debt cannot and will not be paid off or even have “minimum monthly payments” made if the guy holding the wallet (Obama) continues to use our proverbial American Express to dig out of the hole. The current plan is yet another bailout laced with incentives.

Mr. President, I hate to be a thorn in your side (I secretly enjoy it, actually), but didn’t your last bailout plans fail miserably? Didn’t unemployment continue to rise and the debt sky rocket? Isn’t the housing market still tanked? Isn’t our general economic status the worst it’s been? And don’t give me the sniveling “I, I inherited it…” nonsense, you may have inherited a portion of it, but you’ve been close to two years screwing it up even more, so what’s the poor chap who inherits it from you going to say? I can only hope he balls up, shuts up and works hard to ACTUALLY rectify the situation, unlike you. I also understand the whole “3^rd time’s a charm” saying, but I usually reserve that logic for oh, I don’t know, corn hole, not America’s livelihood.

I don’t think I’m the only one in the country not getting where you’re coming from. In fact, I’m pretty sure a majority of American citizens are giving you a huge “WTF?” right now. A lot of us didn’t want you as president to begin with, but I don’t think many of us ever dreamed you were as stupid as you actually are. I know, name calling isn’t nice, but it’s to the point that we just cannot talk sense with you. You ignore everything a true American has to say, but listen attentively when a non-citizen toting a Quran is speaking. Anyway, back to the debt situation. We just absolutely cannot continue to spend the “phantom money.” It’s called phantom for a reason…IT DOESN’T EXIST!

When the money’s gone, it’s gone. We have no more money to spend on things, regardless of what they are. Spending more money is not the answer, cutting back and making responsible choices IS. Things will be tight, but American’s can handle it. We’ve seen rough times and survived. We’re a nation comprised of strong and intelligent people. There are enough of us “scrappy” Americans who can survive by tightening our belts and eating beans and cornbread until the cows come home if it means America is still America and WE’RE FREE. We don’t need an arrogant wannabe VIP telling us how, when and why to spend our hard earned money and we certainly don’t need someone to spend it for us! The sooner that gets through to you the better off we’ll all be.

And one last thing, since when did Cleveland become part of “the great state of Illinois?” Just sayin’…
